These CAL 34-III later versions of the original CAL 34 share the same hull, but with a higher aspect rig.
CAL 34-III, specifically, was promoted as more of a blue water cruiser than previous versions. A bridge-deck was added, with companionway offset to starboard. Most of the changes to the interior were also consistent with the theme of an offshore cruiser with additional wood trim.
Among other changes:
Fuel and water tank capacity was further increased.
Heavier gauge standing rigging. Wheel steering is standard equipment.
